Ilana Reynolds (1981 USA/Frankreich) arbeitet in den Bereichen Choreografie, Performance, künstlerische Forschung und Bildung. Ihr Hintergrund basiert auf afro-brasilianischem Tanz/Capoeira, Release-Techniken, Somatics und Improvisation. Ilanas choreografische Arbeit, die von sorgfältig choreografierten bis hin zu spontanen Kompositionen reicht, ist körperlich spezifisch, humorvoll und energiegeladen. Sie arbeitet mit den Tanzkünstlern Laura Hicks und Sabrina Huth sowie in mehreren interdisziplinären Projekten mit Musikern, Schriftstellern und Videokünstlern zusammen. Im Jahr 2020 erhielt sie das DIS TANZ SOLO-Stipendium, um eine performative und archivarische Recherche über die Soloarbeit der Choreografin Christine Brunel mit dem Titel "Re-performing the solo" zu entwickeln. Die Arbeit wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Tanzarchiv in Köln und dem Tanzhaus Temporär N*3 Kassel gezeigt. Außerdem ist Ilana die Tanzdramaturgin für Hennermanns Horde in Frankfurt a. Main.
Sie unterrichtet in verschiedenen kulturellen und sozialen Kontexten und in verschiedenen Tanzinstitutionen in Deutschland und im Ausland. In ihrem Unterricht möchte Ilana durch anatomische und somatische Anregungen den eigenen Sinn für körperliche Dynamik und Vitalität entfachen. Durch improvisatorische und choreografische Aufgaben leitet sie die Kreativität und Neugier des Einzelnen und der Gruppe an, um das Raum- und Beziehungsbewusstsein zu fördern und zu schärfen.
Ilana hat einen BA von der University of Massachusetts (USA) und einen MA in zeitgenössischer Tanzpädagogik von der Kunsthochschule Frankfurt a. Main. Sie ist Stipendiatin der Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.

Ilana Reynolds (1981 USA/France) works in the fields of choreography, performance, artistic research and education. Her background is based in Afro-Brazilian dance/Capoeira, release techniques, Somatics and improvisation. Ranging from meticulously choreographed to instant compositions, Ilana's choreographic work is physically specific, humorous and energetic. Thriving within strong artistic collaborations, she works with dance artists Laura Hicks and Sabrina Huth and on several other interdisciplinary projects with musicians, writers and video artists. While teaching, Ilana aims to ignite one's own sense of physical dynamics and vitality through anatomical and somatic proposals. She guides personal and group creativity and curiosity through improvisational and choreographic tasks in order to promote and sharpen spatial and relational awareness.
Ilana holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts (USA) and an MA in contemporary dance education from Frankfurt a. Main University of Arts. She is an awarded scholar of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes.
